June in Kyoto

Although June is the rainy season in Japan, rain has been decreasing through the years. In the rain I reccommend picking a Zen garden and spending an hour or two sitting there and listening to the rain. Avoid major sites because of Japanese school children trips. My suggestions are Nanzenji Tenjyu-an or Kenninji in the Gion district.
